Old school roleplay musings

Luck Points

Players die when they’re not in the groove yet. They’re level 1. They’re squishy. They don’t understand your GM style yet, and they don’t realize you’re not protecting them.

Luck points don’t make it easy. They just give the foolhardy, bloodlusting treasure-grabbers a chance.

Rule:

Each player character begins with 1 or 2 luck points. These may be used to cancel a roll and re-roll. Using more than one luck point on the same roll costs one hit point per luck point spent.

One luck point is regenerated with a full night’s sleep.

1 luck point is permanently lost with each level gained.
